Twitch bits badges are the small icons displayed next to a viewer's name when they cheer (donate bits) in your channel. Unlike sub badges that show subscription duration, bits badges show cheering milestones — the more bits a viewer has cheered in your channel, the higher-tier badge they unlock. They're an important part of rewarding your most generous viewers.
How bits badges work🔗
Bits badges are cumulative — they track the total lifetime bits cheered in your channel by each viewer. Twitch has default badge tiers at 1, 100, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 25,000, 50,000 and 100,000 bits. As an affiliate or partner, you can upload custom designs for any or all of these tiers.

Design tips for bits badges🔗
- •Create a visual progression across tiers. Viewers should be able to tell at a glance which tier someone has.
- •Use colour progression: grey → purple → green → blue → red → gold → diamond mirrors Twitch's defaults and is intuitive.
- •Keep it simple at 18 px — a gem shape, star, crown or symbol works well.
- •Add sparkle or glow effects for higher tiers to convey prestige.
- •Consider a thematic badge that fits your channel brand (e.g. a potion bottle for a fantasy-themed stream).
- •You must be a Twitch Affiliate or Partner to upload custom bits badges.
- •Go to Creator Dashboard → Viewer Rewards → Bits Badges.
- •Select the tier you want to customise and upload the 18, 36 and 72 px versions.
